Limited Edition Prints of Type Design: A Legacy of Playful Typography

Discover limited edition prints of type design that blend creativity with a hidden message—a unique piece of art that is sure to bring both intrigue and joy to any space.

It all began 40 years ago with a spark of an idea: to combine the beauty of typography with a playful hidden message. In the 1980s and 1990s, my father was a renowned typographer, working with top advertising agencies. When he left one of these agencies, he was gifted an incredible piece of his craft—a vintage wooden drawer filled with block type. This 4ft by 2ft drawer, with its array of wooden typefaces and sizes, was a relic of the old world of letterpress printing, where each type character was set in reverse. The drawer remained mounted above our fireplace for over 20 years, serving as a constant source of inspiration.

One day, while my mother, who had become obsessed with Sudoku, was staring at the wooden type, she noticed something surprising: hidden within the design was a playful phrase: "Harry Sucks Cox." It’s a memory that always makes me smile—how this old, seemingly ordinary piece of typographic history had been quietly making us laugh all along.

Today, my own work carries this playful spirit, combining bold type design, vibrant colors, and sometimes a bit of cheeky language. While my limited edition prints may not be as subtle as the wooden type tray above our mantle, they are designed to bring a mischievous smile to your face and add character to any room.

Each limited edition print is carefully crafted to showcase the power of typography and the artistry of type design. Perfect for collectors and typography enthusiasts, these pieces are not just art—they’re conversation starters.
